Hello Donut and My happy Day

The Donut Kings are Back

Well avid readers, you'll all be happy to hear that Harbott and duChats are out of our slump, the form has returned. Yes folk's the first Donut of the year has been secured, care of our good friend Sean at Heineken. Self doubt can be a terrible thing, playing on your mind, and after a few years of blagging free tickets and booze, it can be tough missing out on the good life. But being the battlers we are, we knew that we would return.

So on Sunday over a quiet lunch we got the call up to Ireland v Wales. 2 tickets with our names on them, our debut was to be the biggest game in Dublin all year! Brilliant. Off to oldest ground in World Rugby we went, Lansdowne Rd. Ireland came away the victors, and the boys were stoked to be there. Pitty about the shit house level of footy on show! The ground is really quite intimate, giving you a great feeling within the ground. Best part of the game was when Gavin Henson entered the field of play, and every time the poor bastard touched the ball, about 10,000 Irish gave him hell, wolf whistling ect. Classic stuff.

Managed to take what is possibly the Sports action photo of the year, flukishly getting the first touch down on my camera. The decision went upstairs to the 3rd Ref, meanwhile all the crowd around me checked out the camera, and we all made our decision well before the TV lad upstairs....Special.

We are back at the same ground this week for Ireland v Sweden in the Soccer. One of the lads at work got us some tickets, cleaverly situaited in the Away stands with the Swedish supporters. Lets just hope there are plenty of Swedish back packers supporting there team!!!

Greatest Weekend Ever

June 9th 2006 will be the start of one of the greatest weekends in my Life. A few weeks ago Metallica announced plans to play in Dublin on the 11th June. This made me giddy with excitement, enough to make my week, perhaps my month. Then last week, out of the blue, Gun's N Roses announced they are playing on the 9th of June at the same location! With Motley Crew doing warm up. This my friends is metal heaven, the gods have been good.

So I'm starting a vigorous regime for my neck, head banging causes serious injuries every year. Will be tuning the Air guitar over the coming months. Maybe will invest in some new black tapers, some white converse boots with the tongue hanging out and a selection of black T-shirts with skulls and various bad things on them. Also will be growing the mandatory Mullett (Business up front, party out back).

I do have a spear ticket to Metallica, but that's because I need more space to grind the Axe!!!!!

2's Company, 5's a nightmare

Well loyal readers, myself and Steveo have found ourselves a new flat. Finally moved out of picturesque Walkinstown, which was masquerading as one of Beirut's best suburbs. We are now in the more pleasant area of Ranelagh. If fact it is one of Dublin's best spots, bordering some of the more expensive areas in Dublin. So it's So long to the Scangers and knackers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skangers) that hung around the St Corners, and good bye to the Traders Pub, which we went to twice......and we still don't know why. No longer will we have to walk 40min just to find a feckin cab, or take the Night Bus, which is essentually a riot on wheels.

So we are about 15min walk from town, or 5min by the Luas (Light rail) which stops about 30sec from our front door.....all good. Compare this with the 40-60min bus ride to Beirut!!! The place has a great big back yard, so come summer i can hammer Harbott in some BYC, and thus feel better about myself and talent (Don't start Andre) Plus the BBQ will be making a show no doubt.

Below is an aerial shot.....this will help you fuck all to be honest, but being the geek I am, I just had to do it. We are next to the house with red cars in the car park....if you look closely you can see us waving......(Thanks to Nasa for that one)

Globetrotter Mark II

So the rest of the flat have slit into sub groups, Lads, Girls and Couples....sounds gay...but it is'nt. Just very hard to find 4-Bed flats close to town, that and the fact no one wanted to live with me and Harbott!! (Can't blame them).

Plenty of great events coming up, just trying to get invited to some off them!

A little Weekend Waits

Update - 02 March 06

As predicted, we didn't get any real votes. Just a couple of eBay hacks trying to boost our flagging egos. I'm blaming poor promotional skills more than facing the fact that no one in their right mind would actually pay money to hang out with me, or anyone associated with me!
Just to sure this was not a one off, we re-launched the bidding again, and the result was once again rubbish. Proving that either no one looks at eBay or they all have no taste! Fuck it, were still going to have a good weekend.

Now I know Originality is one of my strengths, but imitation is the greatest form of flattery. So in lieu of those 4 Aussie lads selling a weekend out in Sydney for over $1,400. We thought we might try our luck over here.

2 Irishmen, an Aussie and yours truly as your St Patricks day guides, plus special guests. See link below. Bored 'em is a great creative spark my friends.

St Patricks Day Bid

It will be a dead set miracle if we get any more than 100Euro.....still will be a good laugh!

This went on last week and currently we are upto a massive 10 Euro. Please be kind and give to the needy!!
